CLEVELAND PARK RENOVATION
CREATING SPACE
This central hall colonial in Cleveland Park had gone through a few renovations that left the house without a functioning foyer, an outdated primary bath, and a second floor that didn't function well for a growing family.
The clients wanted to renovate the house to allow for everyday family functions including an eat-in kitchen, a rethought foyer, and a mudroom space. The second floor also needed to be redesigned to allow for two children's bedrooms and new baths.
Some solutions were simple. In the kitchen, an existing bay window was expanded only a few feet to create an eat-in banquette. The foyer was brought back through a large threshold that provided a hidden closet on one side and a mudroom/cabinetry piece on the other.
Upstairs, things were a bit more complicated. The light-filled primary bedroom remained while the old single bedroom suite to the north was transformed into two bedrooms. Meanwhile, a small nursery was transformed into a primary bath and guest bath. Delicate planning allowed for a lot of function in a small space!
Custom cabinetry was used throughout with the color palate bringing in greens, brass, copper and walnut tones.
BEAUTIFULLY FUNCTIONAL
KITCHEN BEFORE & AFTER
The old kitchen had the homeowners seeing red!
The old kitchen felt dark and cramped, and it lacked function. The new kitchen incorporates open shelving and smart storage solutions. The end result is a space the feels luxe and inviting.

ENTRY BEFORE & AFTER
A bright, fresh first impression!
The old entryway felt dated and dark. Even worse, it totally lacked function. The new entry is clean and bright with tons of storage tucked away behind cabinet doors. The end result has tails wagging!
